The Bicycle Works offer a professional, friendly and efficient cycle repair service in our Argyle Place shop.

Our prices are very reasonable; our labour charges are often around half the cost of other shops.

We offer an on-the-spot puncture repair service or tyre replacement.
We always use a new inner tube, rather than patching an old one, in order to guarantee the work.

• TUNE UP : From £16

  This is useful on bikes which we’ve serviced previously.
  If we know that it has initially been set up correctly, subsequent work time involved is reduced.

• RACE PREP : From £24

  Got an event or competition coming up ?
  Have your bike checked over and set up correctly.

  There’s nothing worse than an unexpected mechanical failure!

• STANDARD SERVICE : From £32

  A standard service includes:

  • Set brakes and gears
  • Adjust headset
  • Adjust bottom bracket
  • Adjust hubs
  • True wheels
  • Lube transmission and cables
  • Inflate tyres
  • Test ride

  If you need any parts fitted such as brake blocks, cables etc. you only pay for the parts involved.

  We don’t charge extra labour unless it’s something like a bottom bracket or headset replacement which could incur an extra £8 – £14.

• HYDRAULICS SERVICING :

  We service most major hydraulic brake systems (except Magura).
  We keep spares for the following hydraulic brakes:

  • Hayes
  • Hope
  • Avid
  • Shimano

  Almost all brands of disc brake pads from stock by EBC.

  Prices (excluding parts): £12 for brake bleed/refill, £24 for caliper overhaul and bleed/refill.

• SUSPENSION SERVICING :

  We use TF Tuned for fork servicing. Usual turnaround is 7-10 days. From £120.
